ParaSport Ontario: True Sport Lives Here

By Don Schram, ParaSport Ontario

At ParaSport Ontario we truly believe in sport for all. It's with this philosophy that we go forth in our mission to support the development and promotion of the Paralympic movement and promote parallel opportunities in sport for athletes with physical disabilities in Ontario. We do so with our Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) program, as well as our Equipment Rental program.

Ready, Willing & Able Reaches Tens of Thousands Young Athletes Each Year

Through our Ready, Willing & Able program we are able to provide thousands of introductory sport sessions throughout Ontario every year. Schools, rehabilitation centres or community centres will host an RWA event to introduce their membership to a wide variety of adaptive sports. These RWA sessions allow us to reach an upwards of 20,000+ youth per year, sharing the awareness of inclusion and importance of sport for all.

Every RWA session is unique, as we tailor each session around your needs. We have the ability to cover a wide range of Paralympic sports, using demonstrations and presentations. With every session we send an athlete ambassador based on the Paralympic sport being covered to introduce and demonstrate the sport, as well as share their personal experiences in sport.

ParaSport Ontario will provide all the equipment needed for each session.

Providing Gear for the Games

Thanks to our equipment rental program, hundreds of facilities have access to the equipment needed to run daily programs. This service ensures that thousands of people with disabilities have access to sport programs within their community.

Through our vast inventory of equipment we are able to take the financial burden of purchasing expensive equipment off the shoulders of facilities across Ontario. It is our goal to ensure that facilities have access to affordable equipment to help run sport programs that support the development of ParaSport in their community.
